Troubleshooting
Problem: It’s raining from the west (or south) only, but all the shutters are going down.
Remedy: This is normal operation. When rain is detected, all shutters are automatically lowered.
Problem: You touch the UP (or DOWN) pads on the Wall Controller but the shutters do not go up (or down).
Remedy: A shutter cannot be raised or lowered if the light directly above its ZONE pad is not lit. Touch the ZONE pads of the shutters you want to raise or lower. The lights above the respective pads will light up. Then touch the triangular UP or DOWN pad to raise or lower the shutters. You can stop the moving shutters at any time by touching the rectangular STOP pad.
Problem: It’s raining and the shutters just went down and you want to raise them immediately, but they won’t go up.
Remedy: If the ZONE lights are still lit when you want to raise the shutters, you must touch STOP and touch the ZONE pads to extinguish the ZONE lights before trying to raise the shutters again. Or just wait until the lights go out, which will be less than a minute.
Problem: You mistakenly push the UP button on the Hand Held Remote when you wish to lower the shutters. Then you push the DOWN button, but the shutters do not go down.
Remedy: Push the STOP button before pushing the DOWN button.
Problem: It’s raining, but the shutters are not going down.
Remedy 1: Rain is falling straight down, or it is not blowing into the lanai. Don’t worry. If rain is not blowing into the lanai, its contents will not get wet.
Remedy 2: The Wall Controller must be set to the auto mode for automatic rain protection. If the Wall Controller is set to the manual mode and rain is blowing into the lanai, lower the shutters using the touch pads on the Wall Controller panel.
Problem: It’s raining, but the shutters are not going down.
Remedy: The detection grid of one or more Rain Sensors may have been wet before the rain started. The Rain Sensors only signal the Wall Controller to lower the shutters when they sense a change from dry to wet. Lower the shutters using touch switches on the Wall Controller panel. Dry the Rain Sensor detection grids before raising the shutters again
Problem: The battery light on the Wall Controller is lit.
Remedy: Replace the batteries in all Rain Sensors.
Problem: The signal light on the Wall Controller is lit continuously.
Remedy 1: RF interference from an external source may have caused the signal light to light up. This is very unlikely. Or a signal from one or more of the Rain Sensors was not received by the Wall Controller. ► See next.
Problem: ►A signal from one or more of the Rain Sensors was not received by the Wall Controller.
Remedy: – Have someone watch the Wall Controller panel while you do the following test with each Rain Sensor:
- Momentarily press the pushbutton on the rear side of a Rain Sensor (at its normal location) and observe whether or not the signal light goes out.
- If the signal light goes out, wait five seconds and press the pushbutton again. The signal light on the panel should momentarily light up. The fault has been eliminated.
- If it the signal light does not go out, go to the next Rain Sensor and repeat the test.
- If, after testing all the Rain Sensors, the signal light does not go out, move the Rain Sensors closer to the Wall Controller location, if possible, and away from metal furniture or other nearby metal objects. Repeat tests 1 – 3 above.
- If the above measures do not solve the problem, disconnect the electrical power at the circuit breaker box for approximately ten seconds and then reconnect the power. The Wall Controller will power up again in the auto mode. If the fault has been eliminated, the signal light will no longer be lit.
